I’m back into the swing of it now, back to normality as it were. But, I’m missing the sunshine and definitely the fantastic food from my recent trip to Denia, Spain. So in case you happened to fancy a trip over there, or you’ve already got one booked (lucky you!), I’ve compiled this list of my favourite restaurants to try.
Lungo Mare – The best Italian outside of Italy! I love that you can choose any combination of freshly made pasta and delicious sauces. The pizzas are amazing too. My husband and I order a pasta and pizza when we visit to get the best of both.
Republic – A little pricer than some of the other restaurants on offer, but this place is worth it Delicious meat and fish dishes are available with wonderful views overlooking the harbour. The puddings are particularly special here too. My favourite dish is the Dutch favourite of chicken sate.
Hotel Nou Roma – Tucked away in a side street in Denia Old Town, this lovely boutique hotel has a pretty courtyard restaurant that offers an exceptional 5 course lunch menu for a very reasonable price, including a delicious homemade paella.
Mr Fisher – This new restaurant is along the Denia harbour with lovely views of the boats whilst you dine. Offering meat and fish dishes, this place also had the best bread and alioli in Denia. Don’t miss a pre-dinner cocktail at the neighbouring Lamaserena cocktail bar, built to look like a boat, for amazing views of Denia harbour.
Marin – A little outside the centre of Denia, Marin offers a great value, tasty meal with many options of different cuisines to suit all tastes. The ribs are a a particular favourite, as are the desserts which are fantastic.
Book in advance for weekends, as some of the best restaurants get booked up, especially in peak season. Remember…
