Sometimes it’s hard to choose a restaurant for dinner when you’re staying in a big city. There’s plenty of choice, but how do you know where’s good?
Getting back to our hotel room after a day of sightseeing, we decided rather than wandering aimlessly like we would usually, tonight we would do some research, and after looking for nearby restaurants on Google and reading some reviews, we found a gorgeous little trattoria called Ristorante Tema just around the corner from our hotel.
Entering the restaurant, we were welcomed warmly and seated at a table near a large wall of wine, a good start! First prosecco from the wall…
Our starters arrived, proscuitto and mozzarella and a caprese salad presented alongside a large basket of fresh bread, simply delicious.
Main course was lasagne for both of us. A bit boring I know, but neither of us wanted to risk food envy. It was a great choice, it was gorgeous.
Now for my favourite bit, pudding. For me, tiramisu, rich and sweet. For my husband, sharp lemon sorbet. Both were an absolute hit. All washed down with an extra glass or two of prosecco.

After the meal we were presented with a bottle of limoncello and a bottle of cherry liqueur to help ourselves to, a lovely way to finish.
If you’re looking for a place to eat in Rome, be sure to stop by. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the food and wine are plentiful and delicious, what more could you possibly need?
