Our photography themed day out in London began with a visit to The Photographer’s Gallery, followed by an unbelievably delicious veggie lunch at Ethos, including the most incredible dessert station you’ve ever seen.
But no photography themed day out would be complete without a visit to the Getty Images Gallery, our next stop. The gallery was smaller than I anticipated, but don’t let this put you off as it’s well worth a visit.
The exhibition was titled ‘The Female Gaze’, presenting a selection of 70 photograph’s of women, shot in different styles, from composites, portraits and self-portraits to documentary and everything in between. The exhibition was designed to “reveal a raw and honest visual truth about the nature of modern womanhood”. I believe the collection has achieved this goal, the images exude creativity, confidence and are modern and fun, it’s a great exhibition.
This is definitely worth a visit, and what a fantastic exhibition to leave feeling empowered.
Next Mum and I headed out for a glorious dinner, at a stunning French brasserie, but that’s for the next post…
